SAM Johnstone reckons Albion are in good spirits for the hectic festive programme after fighting to a draw on Friday night.
The keeper believes his team were full value for a point following the pulsating 2-2 draw with Aston Villa and is now looking forward to the four-game run which completes the 2018 schedule.
“Obviously, it would have been hard to take had we not got the result on Friday,” said Sam. “I felt it was a pretty even game contested between two good teams and we were worth our point.
“I know there has been a lot of talk about Jay’s goal but I can remember when we were on the other end of one at Middlesbrough - you have to get on with it knowing that in football things tend to even themselves out.
“We felt we left two points on the pitch against Brentford by not taking our chances and it would have been a hard one to take had we finished empty-handed against Villa.”
Albion now prepare for back-to-back assignments in Yorkshire as they tackle Sheffield United on Friday in another live TV date and then Rotherham a week on Saturday.
“We are pleased with our form and I still believe we have one of the strongest squads in the Championship,” he said.
“Promotion is still the target and that’s all we’re thinking about as a group of players. I believe we have the quality and we just need to keep plugging away.”
