SUBLIME Albion secured a third consecutive victory in superb style courtesy of a resounding 7-1 triumph over QPR at The Hawthorns - racking up 11 league goals in two successive matches.
Two goals in three second-half minutes delivered the crucial breakthrough for the Baggies, Kieran Gibbs converting his first for the club after man-of-the-match Harvey Barnes had hit the far post before Jay Rodriguez quickly followed it up with a penalty.
Dwight Gayle added a fourth as he opened his account for Albion in the 67th minute, Rodriguez added a second spot-kick, taking his tally to four this season, Matt Phillips grabbed his second of the afternoon late on against his former club and substitute Hal Robson-Kanu added an injury-time seventh.
It was a stunning and devastating attacking display from Darren Moore's side - with dangerous quintet Barnes, Gayle, Rodriguez, Phillips and Gibbs at the heart of things going forward on an afternoon to remember - with Albion hitting seven in the league for the first time since May 2007.
Phillips had earlier opened the scoring, with Joel Lynch levelling for the Rs to ensure it was all square at the break before Albion took firm control.
Victory continues to build momentum and came after last weekend's 4-3 league success at Norwich City and the midweek Carabao Cup tie triumph over Luton Town.
Next up for the Baggies is a Friday night trip to Middlesbrough.
Albion showed one change from Carrow Road, Tosin Adarabioyo coming in for on-loan Allan Nyom as Moore opted for a 3-4-1-2 formation.
And it was the hosts who bossed the opening 15 minutes, playing a thrilling brand of football at times although unable to break down a stubborn Rs rearguard.
Steve McClaren's visitors found their way back into the encounter but it was Albion who got the crucial breakthrough in the 29th minute.
Barnes won possession and was sent clear by Gayle, who himself raced into the area and, from the resulting cutback, saw his shot parried by Matt Ingram as far as Phillips and he drilled home the rebound low from 12 yards.
Yet the lead lasted just five minutes as Lynch converted at the back post following Matt Smith's headed knockdown from a set-piece.
Massimo Luongo lobbed over an early second-half effort but it was the Baggies who soon took firm control with a quickfire double strike.
Barnes again played an integral role in the first, skipping past his man and seeing his curling effort rebound off the far post and into the path of Gibbs, who smashed home the rebound.
Three minutes later and Gayle was tripped in the area by Josh Scowen, Rodriguez stepping up to slam home the resulting spot-kick.

Barnes came close to getting in on the act before Rodriguez added a fifth from the spot after Gayle was again upended in the area, this time by Ingram.
Phillips added his second from close range in the 88th minute before sub Robson-Kanu put Baggies fans into seventh heaven in added time.
