Baggies duo in international action

SALOMON Rondon played 90 minutes as Venezuela claimed a creditable point against Colombia in their World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

The Albion striker completed the goalless encounter in San Cristobal as La Vinotinto, currently at the foot of the South America qualifying table, held second-placed Colombia. 

Venezuela face Argentina next up in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

Baggies defender Ahmed Hegazi also played 90 minutes as Egypt slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Uganda in their bid to make the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

In Africa qualifying Group E, Egypt now sit second but one point behind Uganda ahead of the return match between the two sides on Tuesday.

Finally on Thursday, Nacer Chadli did not feature as Belgium claimed a resounding 9-0 victory over Gibraltar in Liege.

The Red Devils top Group H in European qualifying for the World Cup, with Greece next up on Tuesday in Piraeus.
