Youngster on target for Grecians

SEVEN Albion loanees played for their clubs last night, with Kyle Edwards scoring a fantastic curling effort as Exeter City drew 2-2 with Plymouth in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Kane Wilson also made his debut in the Southern Group D game for the Grecians, who went on to miss out on a bonus point by losing the penalty shootout 5-3.

In the same competition Rekeem Harper made his return from injury as he completed 90 minutes in Blackburn Rovers’ 1-0 Northern Group C loss to Bury. The midfielder had been sidelined since making his debut after picking up a knock.

Jack Fitzwater also played a full game in the Checkatrade Trophy for Forest Green Rovers as they beat Gloucestershire rivals Cheltenham Town 2-1 in Southern Group E.

In Southern Group H Kyle Howkins started for Cambridge United in their 1-0 loss to Southampton under-21s, meaning Shaun Derry’s side are bottom of the group on one point.

Elsewhere Tahvon Campbell came on as a substitute for Solihull Moors as they were defeated 3-1 by Ebbsfleet United in the National League. Moors boss Liam McDonald has since left the club by mutual agreement following a string of results that means they’re 23rd in the table.

And it was a night to remember for goalkeeper Ethan Ross, as he was part of the Redditch team that beat Bishops Cleeve 9-1 in the bigfreebet.com League Cup.
