Albion PL2 Reading PL2 match report

ALBION's PL2 side were defeated 2-0 by Reading on a bitterly cold evening at Aggborough.

The Baggies started brightly and had a penalty appeal turned down when Tahvon Campbell appeared to be pulled back from latching onto Oliver Burke's cross.

However, on 21 minutes Reading took the lead when Josh Barrett found space on the left and drilled a low shot past Brad House.

Five minutes later they doubled their advantage when Jordan Holsgrove's long-range effort flew into the top corner.

Albion came close to pulling a goal back on 33 minutes, but Finn Azaz's volley went narrowly wide.

After half time it was the home side that had the majority of the ball, but James Shan's side struggled to create any real clear-cut opportunities despite plenty of encouraging play.

ALBION: House, Melbourne, Martinez, Jameson, Soleman; Field (Brown 74), Bradley; Clayton-Phillips (McCourt 68), Azaz, Burke (Tulloch 45); Campbell.

Substitutes: Przybeck, Pierce.
