‘It’s the best I’ve seen him play’ - Megson

GARY Megson heaped praise on Salomon Rondon following his display in Albion’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Venezuela international striker netted his third goal of the season to give the Baggies an early lead at Wembley - but Harry Kane fired an equaliser for Spurs 16 minutes from time.

And the Club’s Assistant Head Coach says it's the best he has seen Rondon play during his time at The Hawthorns.

“The way we scored, winning the ball and slotting in Salomon, was top class,” said Megson.

“We won the ball on the halfway line and we were straight on the front foot.

“It was the best game I’ve seen Salomon play.

“He led the line really well, he got hold of the ball, he’s obviously scored, and he did ever so well.

“He’s now set himself a standard he’s got to try to attain every time he plays.

“He had a good chance late on but I think he was all out on his feet.

“He could hardly move so it would be a little bit unfair if there’s any criticism going his way for missing that - he’d done that much work, he was shattered.”
