Field: 'I loved it'

SAM Field was pleased to complete just over an hour for Albion in the 1-1 draw with Spurs at Wembley.

The midfielder started his first Premier League game since the win over Burnley back in August, and was encouraged by how both he and his teammates performed at the national stadium.

“This is a very difficult place to come, so to pick up anything - we’ve got to take great pride in ourselves for that," said Sam.

“It’s a great honour to come and play here at Wembley. I’m thankful to Gary Megson for chucking me back in because I’m desperate to play.

“I tried my best and luckily I put a shift in and so did the rest of the boys.

“I just wanted to show what I could do. I’d still like to get on the ball a bit more, but I tried to just get stuck in and put some tackles in.

"After 60 minutes I was blowing, but I loved it.

“I think we’re a good enough group to be picking up more points. We’ve been unlucky but the character in there is brilliant.

“Now we’ve got two games against Newcastle and Crystal Palace, which are massive for us.”
