WBA Women defeat Forest

Baggies pick up third win in five

ALBION ensured it was a perfect end to a successful week with a 2-1 FA Women's Premier League Northern Division victory away to Nottingham Forest Ladies.

The Baggies did the double over their East Midland neighbours to record a third victory in their last five league games.

Abi Cottam put Albion ahead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute before Olivia Mitcham doubled the advantage right after half-time with a close-range header.

Forest pulled a goal back in the 61st minute when Catherine Beaver converted from the spot.

Cottam, Mitcham and Darby all had chances to restore Albion's two-goal cushion, but it was not needed as the Baggies held on for three points.

Coach Josh Coney gave his thoughts on the win.

"It's a good result and I thought we defended really well and soaked up the pressure when we needed to."

"I'm really pleased with the win, we now need to keep that focus going into our final two games of the season."
