Defeat for Albion in final Under-18 match

Leicester claim 3-2 win

ALBION’s Under-18 side lost out to Leicester City on Saturday morning in a final game of the season which yielded five goals and three red cards.

The visitors took the lead from the spot early in the first half but Dan Meredith’s screaming volley from the edge of the area saw the teams go in on level terms at the break.

After a tight period following the interval, Leicester grabbed two goals inside the last ten minutes to all but seal the three points.

Defender Kevin Healy headed home from close range with four minutes remaining, but the Baggies were unable to find an equaliser.

Meredith was then instantly dismissed for a late challenge, with two Foxes also given their marching orders for their conduct in the aftermath of the tackle.

ALBION: Przybek, Meredith, Ferguson, Healy, McCourt, Wilding, Chambers, Soleman, Morrison, Holsgrove (Rogers 81), Pierce (Azaz 62).

Unused subs: Biddle, Hall, Harmon.
