Howkins has made 17 appearances for the Sky Bet League Two outfit this term.

The Academy product’s form has helped the Stags record three successive victories and they are yet to concede in 2017.

Director of Football Administration Richard Garlick, said: “We’ve all been impressed with how Kyle has adapted to life on loan and we have received positive reports from Mansfield.

“Their manager, Steve Evans, has been pleased with Kyle and that is evident in the fact that he has played in each of their last five fixtures.

“We all believe Kyle has a bright future in the game but for now he must continue to concentrate on helping Mansfield finish as high in the League Two table as possible.”
