Honours even at The Hawthorns in PL Cup

ALBION's Premier League 2 side will have to beat Liverpool and also rely on results elsewhere to progress in the PL Cup after a 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town at The Hawthorns on Monday evening.

In a first half of few chances, Andre Wright went closest for the hosts. His deflected shot looped over the crossbar in the 33rd minute.

For Ipswich, Andre Dozzell saw a free kick sail wide.

Chay Tilt brought the Baggies to life in the second period, twice testing the Town keeper from the edge of the area.

Wright also curled one beyond Michael Crowe and was inches from getting the winning goal.

But Ipswich defended resolutely and left West Bromwich with a share of the spoils.
