CHRIS Brunt insists Albion must continue to gather momentum in tonight’s Carabao Cup second-round tie at Accrington Stanley (ko 7.45pm).
The Baggies travel to the Wham Stadium with a 100 per cent Premier League record - and the Northern Ireland international is determined to extend their excellent start to three wins from three.
“We have momentum from our first two league games and we need to keep that going into the international break,” said Brunt.
”It will be a tough game at Accrington and they will be up for it.
"They had a decent result in the last round.
“We obviously want to win the game and take even more momentum into the international break.
“For 14 of the 20 clubs in the Premier League staying up is the main goal, we’re no different to that. That’s why we want to have a good cup run.
“We want to do better in this competition than we did last year.
“Cups are difficult games and I’m sure Tuesday night will be no different and it’s a game we will need to prepare properly for.”
