WBA FC Women beaten at Bradford

Baggies undone by Bantams

LOWRI Walker scored her first goal in Albion colours but it was not enough to salvage a point as Bradford ran out 2-1 winners in their FA Women's Premier League Northern Division clash on Sunday.

The home side took the lead midway through the first half thanks to Laura Elford before the Baggies were reduced ten players when Gina Burton was sent off.

Elford doubled Bradford's advantage before Walker's goal gave Albion hope, but it was all in vain as City held on.

Assistant Manager Paul O'Brien gave his view on the defeat, he said: "It's a tough one to take, I think first half Bradford definitely got the better of us.

"We still created a couple of chances, though, which their keeper did really well to save.

"Second half we came out and gave it everything, but unfortunately did not get the result in the end."

Albion Ladies host Leicester City Women in the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division on Sunday, April 16 (ko 2pm).
