STAT PACK: Watford trip under the spotlight

Baggies aiming for Premier League double

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Watford won 1-0 at The Hawthorns during the 2015/16 Premier League campaign. That is the Hornet’s only victory in the last 17 league meetings with the Baggies.

Watford’s most recent victory at Vicarage Road was in the FA Cup back in January 2003.

Albion won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in December. Jonny Evans, Chris Brunt and Matt Phillips were on target for the Baggies while Watford’s goal came through Christian Kabasele.

The Baggies have scored in 15 of their last 18 games against Watford in all competitions.

The two sides drew 4-4 at The Hawthorns in the second tier back in March, 1996. Bob Taylor hit a treble while Richard Sneekes was also on target for the Baggies. Colin Foster and Craig Ramage both hit a brace for the Hornets.

WATFORD

Troy Deeney is Watford’s top Premier League scorer this season with nine goals.

Watford’s win over Sunderland on Saturday ended a run of four Premier League games without a win. They had lost three and drew the other.

Etienne Capoue has made 1,151 passes for Watford in the Premier League this season. That’s 267 more than Miguel Britos in second.

Watford, sitting 12th, could move into the top 10 of the Premier League with a win over Albion.

The Hornets have lost 10 of their 14 Premier League games against teams currently in the top half and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those games.

ALBION

The Baggies have scored 14 goals from corners this season in the Premier League – more than any other side. One of those came against Watford at The Hawthorns with Jonny Evans heading home.

Four of Albion’s last six goals have come from corners.

Tony Pulis’ side picked up their first clean sheet on the road since the opening day of the season at Manchester United on Saturday.

The Baggies have lost just two of their last nine Premier League matches.

Jonny Evans could make his 200th Premier League appearance at Watford on Tuesday night.
