#AlbionCares Day Guide

Celebration of The Albion Foundation ahead of Saints clash

THE fantastic community work of The Albion Foundation will once again be celebrated at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

This weekend's Premier League clash with Southampton will be #AlbionCares Day - sponsored by London Midland - where the Club will champion what we believe to be the best community programme in football.

The fixture will be the culmination of #AlbionCares Week which has already seen the very essence of the Foundation philosophy put into practice.

The week began with the backing of our old favourite Jonas Olsson’s shirt amnesty appeal in aid of the Jonas Olsson Foundation to help an impoverished school in India. Then came volunteers making the trip to Kenya to continue supporting the Foundation’s support projects.

The annual Baggies Bike Ride got started from St Mary's Stadium in Southampton on Thursday with legends ‘Super Bob’ Taylor and ‘Blind Dave’ Heeley leading 30 willing volunteers to The Hawthorns, before popular fundraiser Debbie Green was named as Fans' Champion for the meeting with the Saints.

And here's what will be happening on #AlbionCares Day...

- A bumper #AlbionCares Fanzone from 12pm with live music from Wounded Spirit.

- A VIP experience for eight selected children through the Premier League Primary Stars initiative. The children from local schools will be able to play on the pitch at half-time with Baggie Bird & Albi.

- Tickets given to armed forces, kids in care and nurses.

- Videos showcasing #AlbionCares, Chris Brunt, Blind Dave & Paul Hunt to be shown before kick-off and at half-time.

- Cyclists who took part in the 'Baggies Bike Challenge' performing a lap of honour at The Hawthorns at half-time.

- The Jonas Olsson Foundation shirt amnesty around The Hawthorns prior to kick off. All kit provided will go to deprived children in India.

- Members from the Albion Assembly running a bucket collection with all proceeds going to The Albion Foundation.

- An online auction for the players' match-worn shirts.

- A special 'Albion Foundation' edition of Albion News.
