Baggies beaten in final PL2 game

ALBION's Premier League 2 side were beaten 4-0 by West Ham United at The Hawthorns in the final game of the season on Monday.

With the Hammers needing a win to give themselves a chance of a playoff position, Dan Kemp prodded home in the third minute to give the visitors an early lead.

Alex Bradley stung the gloves of Raphael Spiegel in the United net five minutes later, with Rayhaan Tulloch also denied by a stunning save from the West Ham 'keeper.

The Baggies were made to pay for their wastefulness in the 17th minute when Martin Samuelsen fired past Palmer after neat footwork on the right-hand side.

And then Nathan Holland smashed in a 25-yard free-kick in the 32nd minute to make it three.

With James Shan's side chasing the game in the second period, Kyle Edwards went closest for the hosts but his shot sailed inches wide of the upright.

Then Samuelsen bagged his second of the game with a diving header in the 68th minute before West Ham shut up shop and left The Hawthorns with all three points.
