INTERNATIONALS: Chadli helps Belgium cruise to victory

Attacker makes Red Devils return

NACER Chadli made his first appearance since March for Belgium as they cruised to a comfortable 6-0 win against group minnows Gibraltar in World Cup qualifying.

The Albion man replaced Yannick Carrasco in the 53rd minute in Faro to win his 33rd cap for the Red Devils.

Baggies defender Sebastien Pocognoli, currently on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Championship, was an unused substitute.

The Group H clash saw the quickest goal ever recorded in World Cup history when Christian Benteke ran through and finished confidently after just seven seconds.

The Crystal Palace striker went on to complete a hat-trick, with the other goals in the rout coming from Axel Witsel, Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard.

Chadli’s national side have nine points from their opening three games and sit top of the standings.
