Albion optimistic forward will be fit for Burnley clash
ALBION striker Salomon Rondon will miss Venezuela’s two World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Ecuador because of a hamstring strain.
The Baggies number nine did not travel to South America after the club reported the problem to the Venezuelan FA.
Albion remain optimistic that rest and treatment will enable Rondon to feature when they return to Premier League action against Burnley on Monday, November 21 (ko 8pm).
Venezuela sit bottom of the South American qualifying section having collected just two points from their opening ten matches.
Meanwhile, James McClean is expected to play for the Republic of Ireland against Austria in Vienna on Saturday, November 12, after treatment for a back injury.
The winger suffered the problem in training with Albion last Saturday before travelling to join up with his international side.
