Galloway unused sub in Under-21 defeat to France
JONATHAN Leko helped England’s Under-18 side claim the International Trophy on Monday night.
The winger played 90 minutes for the Young Lions who drew 0-0 against France at Peterborough United’s ABAX Stadium.
But there was also disappointment for the young Albion star as he fired over from the spot after the game went to penalties, with France winning the shootout 5-4.
Neil Dewsnip’s men had previously recorded a 2-0 victory over Poland, meaning the spot-kicks loss to the French had no bearing on the final outcome of the tournament.
Meanwhile, defender Brendan Galloway was an unused substitute for England’s Under-21 side who suffered a 3-2 defeat in France.
Duncan Watmore and Lewis Baker were on target for the Young Lions, while France’s goals came from Celtic striker Moussa Dembele (2) and Wylan Cyprien.
