Field, Leko & Wilson attend PDC
THREE Academy graduates were in Redditch on Tuesday night to visit an Albion Foundation Player Development Centre.
Sam Field, Jonathan Leko and Kane Wilson attended a session at Valley Stadium where the club implement the ‘Playground to Premier League’ Player Pathway.
The programme is designed to ensure children from all backgrounds are given the opportunity to enhance their skills under the guidance of highly-qualified coaches.
Children who show promise are invited to the centres after impressing during one the Foundation’s in-school coaching sessions, soccer camps or via The Albion Foundation's grassroots football club links.
Since the programme launched in September 2011, 36 players have advanced to various Academy Talent ID programmes, with six going on to sign for the club.
