Defeat for PL2 side

Baggies suffer 2-1 defeat at Ipswich

ALBION's PL2 side suffered the first defeat of their Premier League Cup campaign after they were beaten 2-1 by Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

The Baggies found themselves one down in the 22nd minute after Adam McDonnell squeezed the ball home from a tight angle.

And it was two for the hosts ten minutes later, with Andre Dozzell lifting the ball over Alex Palmer.

Chay Tilt pulled one back for the Baggies shortly before half time, but a fine second half performance from Harry Wright in the Ipswich goal denied the visitors a point.

Wright tipped two Joe Ward strikes onto the bar, and saved well from Shaun Donnellan in the closing minutes.

Albion have now played two, won one and lost one in the Premier League Cup.

Liverpool are up next for the Baggies.
