Fletcher: We will see the best of him next year

Skipper praises forward

ALBION captain Darren Fletcher is excited by the prospect of seeing the best of Salomon Rondon during the 2016/17 Barclays Premier League campaign.

The record-signing headed home his eighth top-flight goal of the season as the Baggies drew 1-1 at Bournemouth in their final away game.

With a third successive penalty missed and the game’s best chances slipping their grasp it was another frustrating outing for Tony Pulis’ men.

But Rondon’s powerful 16th minute header and all-round performance left the skipper eager to see more of the Venezuelan in his second season at The Hawthorns.

“I was delighted to see Salomon score,” said Fletcher.

“Salomon deserves the goal for his work rate.

“His work rate is brilliant and sometimes it goes unnoticed just how hard he works for the team.

“He isn’t getting as many chances as he would like but he does not stop working.

“I think he has had a fantastic first season in England but I believe we will see the best of him next year.”
