Victory for Northern Ireland while Wales suffer defeat
JONNY Evans and Gareth McAuley both helped Northern Ireland to a 1-0 victory over Slovenia in Belfast on Monday night.
McAuley was substituted at half-time at Windsor Park while Evans completed the 90 minutes.
Conor Washington’s 42nd minute strike was enough to secure a narrow win for Michael O’Neill’s men, who have now gone a record ten games unbeaten.
Elsewhere, there was disappointment for fellow Albion defender James Chester.
He played 90 minutes for Wales as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in Ukraine – Andriy Yarmolenko scoring the only goal of the game in the first-half.
