McClean signs new contract

Winger extends Hawthorns stay with new deal

JAMES McClean has become the latest Albion man to secure his future with a new contract.

The Republic of Ireland international follows James Morrison, Craig Gardner and Ben Foster in agreeing extended deals with the Baggies.

McClean’s new-and-improved contract sees him now committed to The Hawthorns until 2019, with the option of a further year.

Head Coach Tony Pulis said: “James thoroughly deserves this and has worked hard to achieve it.

“James’s attitude and commitment to the group is first class and I’m delighted to see that approach rewarded in this way.”

Pulis added: "For what we paid, he's been a terrific signing for us.

"He's a good lad. He's not been in the team lately but his attitude in training and around the place...he's just a great kid.

"He's scatty but that's James, he's a good lad with it."
