Albion to host Shanghai SIPG FC

Chinese Super League youth team to tour West Midlands

WEST Bromwich Albion will play host to Shanghai SIPG FC as their under-19 side tour the West Midlands over the festive period.

Youth players from Andre Villas Boas' side will arrive in the UK on December 20 and will visit various Midlands clubs before flying home on January 10.

The Chinese Super League outfit will face an Albion XI and tour the Club's training facilities in the New Year.

The trip will be managed by Sporting Group International (SGI) and China's Goal Global Group (GGG), with SGI CEO Adrian Wright expressing his pleasure at securing the tour.

"We are delighted to be managing this important, inaugural and prestigious UK tour of the Shanghai SIPG under-19 side," said the former Baggies Commercial Director.

And GGG CEO Sammy Yu echoed Wright's sentiments.

"This is a long term vision which will forge great relationships for both countries and not just in a football capacity"
