Defender prepares for trip to Plainmoor
GARETH McAuley says game time is crucial as Albion continue to prepare for the 2016/17 Premier League season on the south coast.
The Northern Ireland defender and five of his team-mates played all 90 minutes at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
The Baggies take on Torquay United tonight (ko 7.30pm) with less than two weeks until the new campaign begins.
“Saturday was the workout we were looking for,” he said.
“It was a hard game. We could have been better with the ball at times. It was a bit slow in some parts, but that’s pre-season.
“It would have been nice to win on Saturday, it’s always nice to win games.
“But the most important thing is a lot of the lads have got 90 minutes.”
"It's all in the preparation, pre-season is about working hard, getting minutes and getting performances up to speed, ironing out things we need to work on.”
