Hat-trick hero Nabi leads superb all-round U21 display
ALBION’s sparkling young talent continue to keep up the pressure on senior first teamers after a dazzling destruction of neighbours Villa last night.
Adil Nabi took the spotlight with a superbly-executed hat-trick in the 4-1 victory, while manager Jimmy Shan looked on with pride at a display studded with impressive individual performances.
“It was a great night,” said a beaming Nabi, who is looking better than ever after making a determined recovery from last year’s season-stopping anterior cruciate ligament injury.
“It’s great for me to be scoring but most of all it was a great all-round performance. But I’m here to challenge and play – we all want to play. Alan Irvine is a coach who wants us to challenge the senior players and I think we are doing that.
“I don’t mind which way it goes. If he wants me to stay here and try to break through then that’s fine; if it’s thought best that I go and get some football on loan somewhere then I’ll go with that.
“It’s just great to be part of this. The whole club is buzzing and this Under-21 team is great for us all to be involved with.”
