Berahino earning rewards for 'top class' attitude
ALAN Irvine has predicted that an England senior call-up could be around the corner if Saido Berahino continues his progress.
The Baggies striker scored his sixth Premier League goal of the campaign to hand Albion a 2-1 lead.
Irvine's side conceded late on, but Berahino's performance was again a major talking point after the game.
Asked whether Berahino could make the full England squad, Irvine answered: "Berahino has been in great form and he deserves what he's getting as a reward.
"His application in training is top class. He's behaving like a top professional on, and off,the pitch and if he keeps doing that he has a great future.
"If he scores goals he has a great chance but Roy (Hodgson) will decide when the right time is for him to go him. I told him to keep doing the right things and the rewards will come.
"People will make those decisions and if he keeps performing like that he has a real chance of becoming a senior international at some point."
Speaking about the 2-2 draw, Irvine added: "There are lot of positives to take we are disappointed that we got so close but didn't see the game out.
"We played very well for most of the game."
