Irvine impressed with Myhill contribution

Myhill hands Irvine potential selection headache

ALAN Irvine is looking forward to his selection poser once Ben Foster recovers from a minor calf problem.

Boaz Myhill stepped in for his first Premier League outing of the season last night after Foster was forced to withdraw from duty for the visit of Manchester United.

Irvine was pleased with Myhill's contribution.

The Albion head coach said: "Ben Foster is a top goalkeeper and an England international but I didn't lose any sleep knowing Boaz was going in when I found out we'd be without Ben the night before.

"We're very fortunate in that we have good goalkeepers and I was comofrtable with Boaz going in and with Luke Daniels on the bench.

"They are all good goalkeepers.

"We're still not sure at this stage whether Ben will be fit for the game against Crystal Palace this Saturday. We will assess him.

"Nobody is guaranteed an automatic place in the team so it will be a nice headache to have when Ben is fit."
