Albion youngsters win at Arsenal

Andre Wright and Tahvon Campbell on target

Albion Under-18s earned an impressive 2-0 win away at Arsenal in the Barclays U18 Premier League on Friday thanks to goals from Andre Wright and Tahvon Campbell.

The home side had started brightly, but Albion went into the break with a 1-0 lead after a confident finish from Wright.

Albion then doubled their lead early in the second half through Campbell, the striker rounding off a good week having scored in Albion’s Under-21 draw at Blackburn on Monday.

Aaron Danks’ men had to put bodies on the line in the latter stages to hold on to their clean sheet, but they also had chances to increase their margin of victory.

“Arsenal are a very good side and to go there and win is fantastic,” said Danks.

“The boys did really well and deserved their victory.

“Arsenal started brightly but we worked really hard and held our shape, which kept us in the game.

“We played some really good football and had some great chances to add more goals after going 2-0 up.

“We are delighted with the win.”
