O'Neil joins Scunthorpe on loan

Midfielder to spend 28 days at Glanford Park

ALBION midfielder Liam O’Neil has signed for Scunthorpe United on a 28-day emergency loan.

The 21-year-old, who has made a handful of appearances for the senior side since making his debut at Swansea City towards the end of last season, will officially join the League One side on Monday, November 17.

The youngster has previously enjoyed a loan spell with Finnish side VPS in 2012.

O’Neil has captained Albion’s Under-21 side this term, and coach James Shan will be delighted to see him gain some valuable first-team experience at Glanford Park.

“I am delighted for Liam,” said Shan.

“This move will be right up his street.

“He has been an elite performer for the Under-21s, but to continue his development he needs more regular games.

“We wish him all the best at Scunthorpe United.”
