Foster presents a birthday surprise

Albion fan gets birthday surprise

BEN Foster followed up his star man performance at Chelsea with a champion birthday gesture

The England international handed over his shirt to Albion supporter Les James following the final whistle at Stamford Bridge.

Les celebrated his 89th birthday last week and was among 1500 supporters who stuck by their side in Saturday's clash against the Barclays Premier League leaders.

The lifelong Albion fan, who has barely missed a game in eight decades, said: "I couldnt believe it when Ben came over and handed me the shirt.

"It's made the perfect birthday present. I will get it framed when I can."

Albion face two back-to-back games at The Hawthorns, with Saturday's televised fixture against Arsenal being followed by the visit of West Ham United next Tuesday.

Captain Chris Brunt said: "We are looking forward to the two home games.

"The away support at Chelsea was great.

"I’m sure the supporters will get behind us in the next two home games, so hopefully we can put in a good performance and get some points on the board.

"Our home form hasn’t been the best so that’s something that we are looking to improve, and the crowd can do their bit for that as well."
