Amalfitano and Lugano also return to training
ALBION are hopeful of a triple injury boost for Saturday’s crucial clash with Cardiff at The Hawthorns (ko 3pm).
Gareth McAuley, who was taken off as a precaution with a swollen ankle at Hull, is expected to recover in time for the visit of the Bluebirds, who sit three positions and three points below the 16th-placed Baggies.
Fellow centre-half Diego Lugano, who has been sidelined since suffering a knee ligament injury on international duty with Uruguay earlier this month, and Morgan Amalfitano (knee), who has missed the last two games, are both back in training.
The outlook is less bright for Victor Anichebe, who limped off with a hamstring problem at Hull and remains a doubt, while the Cardiff game is likely to come too soon for Billy Jones and Claudio Yacob.
Albion will definitely be without Jonas Olsson, who serves the final match of his two-game suspension, and skipper Chris Brunt (knee).
