Albion U18s edge five-goal thriller

Leko bags brace before Wright wraps up winner

ALBION twice came from behind to claim an impressive 3-2 Barclays U18 Premier League victory at Bolton on Saturday.

Jonathan Leko deservedly levelled for a dominant Albion in the 37th minute after the hosts had taken the lead from the penalty spot, only for Wanderers to regain their advantage before the break.

However, Leko grabbed his second of the game just before the hour mark following a well-worked move before Andre Wright fired Albion in front 10 minutes later.

And it was left for goalkeeper Ethan Ross to preserve victory as he saved a late spot-kick.

“It was a good performance,” said professional development phase coach Aaron Danks.

“We were disappointed at half-time to be 2-1 down and were really positive with the boys at the break, telling them to keep doing what they were doing.

“The second goal was a great counter-attacking goal and Andre followed that up with a well-taken finish.

“The lads really deserved the victory.”
