Brunt: We have to regroup

Skipper gutted following derby defeat

CHRIS Brunt admits his team-mates are in a state of shock following tonight's 4-3 defeat at Villa - but insists they now need to regroup ahead of Sunday's game against Liverpool (ko 1.30pm)

The club skipper opened the scoring as the Baggies established an early 2-0 lead before the hosts fought back to claim all three points at Villa Park.

And Brunt is disappointed Albion did not make the most of their good start to the local derby.

"You can't score three goals in a Premier League game and lose, it's as simple as that," he said.

"It's not good enough.

"We didn't defend well all night and we got punished for that.

"We're in disbelief.

"The same thing happened at The Hawthorns and we let Villa back into the game.

"Now we have to regroup.

"We need to take a good look at ourselves over the next couple of days because we've got a few tough games coming up.

"It's disappointing because it's a game that, especially when we were two up, we should have won.

"We started really well like we did in the home game.

"To give away three goals in 25 minutes just isn't good enough.

"We need to dust ourselves down because we've got a big game on Sunday against Liverpool."
