Berahino: Fans are key to success

And striker reveals he is filming a video diary for his family in Africa

SAIDO Berahino believes the club's supporters could play a vital role in securing Albion's Barclays Premier League status this season.

Tuesday's 1-1 draw with title-challengers Chelsea saw the Baggies climb out of the drop zone and within four points of tenth-placed Swansea.

And Academy-product Berahino says Pepe Mel's side will be just fine if they continue to perform like they did against Jose Mourinho's men.

“It’s tight at the bottom and we know that anything can happen," said Berahino.

“But if we can perform like we did against Chelsea every week there will be no problem.

“It was great that we got the equaliser because it wasn’t a fluke, it was something that we deserved.

“Everybody put in a shift and helped us get that point that we needed.

“We’re confident and we just want the fans to stay behind us and keep that faith over the next few months.

“I’ve been here since I was 11 so being part of keeping the club in the Premier League would be a great thing for me too."

The Burundi-born striker has revealed he will be filming all the drama over the coming months on his personal video camera - before sharing the footage with his family in Africa.

"It’s something I want to do from now until the end of the season for me and my family," added Berahino.

“I will put it together and send it back to people back in Africa.

"Some of my family have never had a chance to be here with me.

“I have family back in Burundi.

"It is something my Mum wants to look at.

“I have cousins, uncles and aunts back in Burundi.

“Basically I’ve got a camera and I just film bits and pieces behind the scenes.

“I started last week.

“The camera was there and I just started to do it.

“Someone will edit it all down for me.”
