Davidson: Albion are a fantastic club

Defender gives exclusive first interview (VIDEO)

NEW signing Jason Davidson has described his move to Albion as 'a dream come true'.

The Australia international left-back has today penned a two-year contract, plus a further year’s option in the club’s favour, having arrived for an undisclosed fee from Dutch club Heracles Almelo.

Davidson admits he picked the brains of some of his Socceroos team-mates, including close friend Tim Cahill, during his time at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

And the 23-year-old revealed they had nothing but good things to say about life in England, Albion and head coach Alan Irvine, who worked with Cahill at Everton.

“I’m happy to be at a Premier League club, it’s a dream come true for me. I’m happy I’ve signed,” Davidson said.

“I’m excited to start training and meet my new team-mates.

“Albion are a fantastic club.

“I spoke to a few team-mates in the Socceroos and, with a new head coach here, a few of them had worked under him (Irvine) already.

“I think it’s a club which gives youngsters a go and as a youngster that’s what you want to do, you want to be playing week in, week out.

“I’ve come to play and work hard to make sure I’m in that starting XI.”
