'Bomber' Brown statue update

Launch to go head during season to ensure historic event is celebrated in fitting manner

WEST Bromwich Albion have today confirmed the unveiling of a statue of club legend Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown will now take place during the first half of the 2014/15 season.

The tribute to the Baggies’ record appearance maker and goalscorer was scheduled to be erected before the start of the campaign.

However, the club have decided to delay the launch to ensure this historic event is celebrated in a full and fitting manner.

Foundation work for the statue, outside the main East Stand entrance, has already been completed and the club will announce a date for the unveiling as soon as it has been finalised.
