And captain praises Sessegnon
CHRIS Brunt is delighted to have contributed to the clean sheet in yesterday’s 1-0 Hawthorns win over West Ham.
The Baggies skipper moved from the left wing to left-back when Steven Reid limped from the field in first-half stoppage time – as Billy Jones returned to his more orthodox position at right-back.
And Brunt admits it is probably the first time he has played in a back four that has seen the opposition draw a blank.
“We talked in the week about me playing left-back.
“It was decided in the end that we were better off going with a back four and then half an hour into the game you end up playing there anyway.
“It’s probably the first time I’ve been in a back four that’s kept a clean sheet.
“Even at 29 you never stop achieving firsts.”
