Mulumbu looks to fly out of blocks

Midfielder stresses Albion can travel in confident mood

YOUSSOUF Mulumbu has urged Albion to replicate the fast start they made against Tottenham when they make the Easter Monday trip to Manchester City (ko 8pm).

Albion travel to the Etihad Stadium to face a City side whose hopes of claiming the Barclays Premier League title have been hampered by defeat at Liverpool and a 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland in midweek.

And midfielder Mulumbu, who claimed the Disabled Supporters’ Club Player of the Year award, hopes the Baggies can fly out of the traps.

Albion scored twice in the first four minutes against Spurs last weekend in the 3-3 draw at The Hawthorns, with the Black Country club having come away with points against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United this term.

“We’ve done well against the big teams this season,” Mulumbu said.

“It’s a crucial game for Manchester City but also for West Brom as well. On Wednesday we saw Sunderland draw against City so anything is possible in football, especially in England.

“It’s like a cup game. You never know what’s going to happen.

“We just need to go there and start well, start sharp like we did last Saturday against Tottenham and show a little bit more strength at the end of the game.”
