Albion hopeful over Anichebe

Striker on track for Norwich clash

ALBION are hopeful that Victor Anichebe will join Jonas Olsson in returning to contention for Saturday’s trip to Norwich (ko 3pm).

Sweden international Olsson is available for the encounter against the Canaries after serving a two-match ban for collecting ten bookings.

The 3-3 draw with Cardiff on Saturday came too soon for Anichebe, who limped off in the second half at Hull seven days earlier with a hamstring problem.

But the striker is on track to be fit in time for the game at Norwich, who sit two places and three points above the 17th-placed Baggies.

Albion have also been boosted by the news that Chris Brunt, Billy Jones and Claudio Yacob will all return to training this week, although a more likely comeback game for the trio will be Saturday week’s home date with Tottenham.

The Baggies will be backed by a sell-out 2,500-strong following in Norfolk, with the club laying on free coach travel for up to 2,000 supporters.

It is the 12th season running the club have made the gesture to supporters and the one time they have previously run the offer for a game at Norwich, in April 2007, Albion ran out 2-1 winners thanks to Diomansy Kamara’s stoppage-time header.
