Ladies set for Wolves clash

Baggies to host Wanderers at Halesowen Town on Sunday (ko 2pm)

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies will host Wolves in the first Black Country derby of the season at Halesowen Town FC on Sunday (ko 2pm).

The Baggies will be looking for their first victory of the season, having recorded draws in their opening two FA Women's Premier League Northern Division fixtures.

Albion beat Wanderers three times last season and manager Dave Lawrence knows they will be out for revenge.

He said: “We always said that getting maximum points versus Leeds and Nottingham Forest would be hard, so getting through those games unbeaten is pleasing.

“But it puts more emphasis on winning the games that we highlighted in pre-season as winnable.

“Wolves could potentially be more motivated this season after us beating them three times last year.

“But our girls have other motivations and targets in terms of league position, so getting three points in our home games should be incentive enough, regardless of the opposition.”
