Boss: Sessegnon's a match winner

Clarke eager to bring best out of attacking midfielder

STEVE Clarke believes he has signed a born match winner in club record signing Stephane Sessegnon.

The former Sunderland star could make his Albion debut in today’s trip to Fulham (ko 3pm).

And Clarke is confident he will add some much needed firepower to his attack as the Baggies go in search of their first Barclays Premier League goal of the campaign.

"He is a creative player and knows the league,” said the Hawthorns boss.

“If it's drifting to 0-0 he can win you the game.

“He has that individual skill, can score or create out of nothing.

"He gives us that something we need, creativity and goals.

“His skill level is tremendous.

“He's a player that we'll need to work with on the training ground, work with him to find a way to fit him into the team.

“But for a player of that ability there has to be a place in the team because he's got the ability to win matches - and that's important.

“If you look at the top teams they have a solid base and they're good at this and that, but they've always got players who can create something from nothing.

"If you have a player who can do that, then you have a chance to win the game.”
