Baggies fail to make possession count in derby defeat

ALBION Under-18s suffered a 4-0 Black Country derby defeat by Wolves on Saturday.

The Baggies found themselves 1-0 down at the break and, despite having the lion’s share of possession, fell two behind just after the hour-mark before allowing Wanderers to cruise to victory.

Lead professional development coach James Shan said: “We passed the ball well and were relatively creative during the first hour – but we failed to convert any of our chances.

“The second goal was a turning point, as we collapsed after that.

“We conceded some sloppy goals and I was disappointed in our inability to compete in the final 30 minutes.

“Wolves deserved to win.”
