Baggies fall to Carrington defeat

ALBION suffered a 4-2 defeat by Manchester United in the Barclays U18 Premier League on Saturday.

Nathaniel McKenzie and Samir Nabi were on the scoresheet for the Baggies but the North Group league leaders came out on top at Carrington.

“I’m disappointed with the nature of goals we concede,” said lead professional development coach, James Shan.

“Every game we’ve played this season we have been comparable to the opposition in possession, shots, completed passes, so in terms of the game it’s not like we’re being dominated.

“But we haven’t been clinical enough in either 18-yard box.

“We want to continue to play the way an Albion team plays.

“But we need to be more dogged in our defending.

“Our shape is good but we need to cut out one-v-one defensive errors that are costing us.

“There are things we can work on and we know what they are.”
