Bathams answer fans' call

Local beer now on sale on matchdays

BATHAMS Best Bitter will be available to supporters on The Hawthorns concourses from tomorrow’s clash with Arsenal.

The Black Country ale topped a recent poll in which Baggies fans were asked which beer they would like to drink on a matchday.

Bottles of the award-winning ale, which will be available to both home and away supporters, will be decanted into plastic glasses and priced £3.80.

Baggies fans Matt and Tim Batham (pictured) are delighted their beer can now be supped at The Hawthorns – not least because it came as a result of overwhelming demand from supporters.

“We’re delighted Bathams will now be on sale to supporters on the concourses at The Hawthorns,” said Matt.

“What’s even more pleasing is that the club’s supporters asked for our beer to be sold at games.

“As a family of Albion fans this is a very proud moment for the brewery.”

Albion Sales and Marketing Director, Adrian Wright, said: “Due to overwhelming demand from supporters we have made the decision to make Bathams available at The Hawthorns.

“We are always trying to forge links with local businesses and Bathams is a highly-respected brewery with an outstanding product.

“Bathams is a sought-after beer and I’m sure both home and away supporters will look forward to sampling a taste of the Black Country on their visits to The Hawthorns.”

Visitors to The Hawthorns are asked to enjoy alcoholic drinks responsibly and in moderation.

The club operates a Challenge 25 policy, so, if you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked to prove that you are aged 18 or over when you buy alcohol.

If you are under 18 you are committing an offence if you attempt to buy alcohol.
