Baggies beaten on home turf
ALBION were defeated 3-0 by Middlesbrough in the Barclays U18 Premier League on Saturday.
The Baggies dominated the opening exchanges at the club’s training ground but three second-half strikes earned the visitors all three points.
“I was really pleased with the first-performances,” said professional development coach, James Shan.
“We had seven or eight good opportunities to take the lead.
“We also had two appeals for a penalty and created some really good chances throughout the first half.
“I was a little bit disappointed we didn’t lead at the break.
“It was nothing like a 3-0 game.
“They counter attacked and scored some late goals.
“We created a lot more chances than they did but we’re struggling in front of goal at the moment.
“I was pleased with George Cleet who was excellent – and Samir Nabi also played very well.”
