SCA Ladies' treble joy over Wolves

Baggies warm-up for cup final in style with derby romp

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies last night completed a hat-trick of victories over derby rivals Wolves this season after a comfortable 4-0 win.

A first-half strike from Robyn James and three second half goals from Ashleigh Neville (pictured), Jamie-Leigh Fowler and Kayleigh Griffiths secured the points.

It followed a repeat of October’s reverse league fixture with Wanderers and February’s 2-0 Birmingham County Cup semi-final success over them.

The Baggies also extended their unbeaten run to seven games and are now third in the FA Women’s Premier League (Northern Division) with one league game remaining.

SCA Ladies boss Dave Lawrence said: “It wasn’t the best first half, Wolves probably shaded it, but we managed to score with a great bit of individual brilliance from Robyn.

“In the second half we came out firing and we dominated the game.

“We kept the ball on the ground and we managed to nullify all their attacks with some good defending.”

The Baggies will now carry that momentum into Wednesday’s Birmingham County Cup final against Coventry City at Solihull Moors FC (ko 7.30pm).
