Baggies fan wanted for 10km run in Manchester

FABRICE Muamba has called on Albion supporters to back the Arrhythmia Alliance ‘Hearts and Goals’ campaign at this year’s Bupa Great Manchester Run.

The former Bolton midfielder is looking for one supporter from each Barclays Premier League club to take part in the 10km race dressed in their club’s colours.

Muamba, who received lifesaving on-field treatment after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in an FA Cup tie at Tottenham last year, will be the official starter of the race on Sunday, May 26.

He said: “I was delighted to be asked along to set the 40,000 runners on their way and it represents a great opportunity for the Hearts and Goals campaign to raise money for their vital work.”

If you are interested in taking part, tweet @great_run, including a picture of yourself in Albion colours, with the hashtag #runformuamba.

The ‘Hearts and Goals’ campaign works to ensure lifesaving automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are available in communities across the country.
