Reid boost for Baggies

And Keen provides update on Morrison's fitness

ALBION have been buoyed by the return to training of Steven Reid ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Ham (ko 3pm) – but James Morrison (hamstring) remains a doubt.

Reid has missed the last two games with a groin problem but is expected to be fit to challenge Billy Jones for the right-back slot against the Hammers.

Morrison was forced to pull out of the Scotland squad for World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Serbia after injuring his hamstring in the goalless draw at Stoke 11 days ago.

“We’ll have to wait and see as the week goes on with James,” said joint-assistant head coach Kevin Keen.

“It’s a maybe with him – it’s not a definite no or a definite yes.

“Steven’s back to fitness.

"He trained on Monday and had a little bit of a rest yesterday, mainly because of the state of the pitch due to the bad weather.

“Steven will be fine for the weekend I would think.”

The Baggies' coaching staff are also keeping their fingers crossed the ten players away on international duty return in one piece.

“You want the international lads to do well," Keen added.

“Shane [Long] played against Jonas [Olsson] the other day and anything could have happened!

“But they both came through it.

“Whatever happens, happens and that’s why we have a good squad.

“Hopefully we have no injuries and we can carry on as we are."
